What a perfect wedding!  Jessica and Max are sooo happy together and the wedding party was a blast to be around! Even though it rained the whole day, the wedding still turned out perfect!  Here are just a handful of my favorites….more to come! :)

Jessica’s dad sang a song to her before giving her away….there wasn’t a dry eye around!  Oh, and I love how Max is looking at Jessica too! :)

Here are a few more of my favorites from our Charlotte Engagement Session!  I just know this couple is going to have such a beautiful wedding!!

I met Gus and Patrice in downtown Charlotte for an Engagement Session! These two were up for anything and are so in love!  I think I was laughing for most of the session just as much as these two were! I LOVE LAUGHTER! :)  Here are some pictures from their session…it was soooo hard to pick some of my favorites so here are some for a preview! More to come! :)

This picture cracks me up! Chris is so hot, and all Meredith can do is laugh .. :)

What a good sport huh? :)

Chris and Meredith had such a beautiful wedding and (my) Chris and I could not be happier for the two of them.  I have been friends with the groom for over 11 years now (we went to High School together), and when I finally met Meredith, I knew he had met his girl! :)  The details were perfect and Chris and Meredith were just beaming! :)  Here are some pictures from the wedding and reception….more to come! :)

Can we say BEAUTIFUL? :)

A Boudoir session is a great way to embrace your body at any time in your life.  It seems that most woman that have had these sessions done decide to do them right before their wedding (after putting in all that hard work into their body for that wedding dress)… and surprise their man with them. :)  These images can be put into a leather album so that your partner can have a nice book of the images. These session are so classy and really are a lot of fun.  There is no nudity (as some think) and are done with the utter most class. These images are also confidential and will never be shared with anyone!

What to think about?

Location: Would you rather have it done in a nice hotel room, or in your bedroom?

What to bring:  Bring many changes of clothing.  Some choose lingerie, a button down shirt of their mans, or a cute cocktail dress works too. Heels always add a nice touch as well. Remember, these are supposed to be fun, and make you feel beautiful.  Embrace your body no matter what size/shape it is!

A make-up artist and hairstylist can also be arranged for these sessions and to give you touch-ups through out the session.

So, what exactly is a Bridal Portrait?  I like to explain it as a “stress-free time to get as many images taken as possible in a location (or couple locations) of your choice in your wedding dress!”  The wedding day can be sooo busy and a day filled with many emotions.  Some brides choose to not concentrate on pictures of just them self on that day and decide to do a separate session with just them and the dress!  Most of the times a good friend or the mom of the bride will come along as well (which makes for such a fun session).   Majority of brides will get a 16×20 images or canvas of their favorite shot from the session and post it at the reception.

What to remember about Bridal Sessions?

*Bring props!  Balloons, umbrellas, fun shoes, sunglasses, a bouquet….the sky is the limit!

*It may not always be the best idea to do your “trial run” with your hair on the same day as your bridal session (just incase you don’t like how it turned out).  Instead, consider doing your trial run a week or so before, and then schedule your appointment to do your hair a couple hours before the bridal session

*Do not worry if a bridal session does not fit in your budget…..I promise we will get plenty of images of you on your wedding day!! :)

Wedding season is fast approaching and I am so excited to share with you the stories and images of all the couples we already have booked for the 2010 season, and look forward to meeting the couples that still plan on booking for the 2010 season!  I must admit, I LOVE MY JOB!  I love getting to know new couples and capturing one of the most important days of their life!  It is like capturing their family history!  LOVE IT!! :)
Starting this week, I thought it would be fun to cover the  different “options” a couple has to take advantage of leading up to their wedding and shortly after.

Engagement photos are usually one of the first things a couple thinks about doing once they are engaged.  The most common question I get asked is, “when is the best time to get engagement photos done?”My opinion is that it honestly does not matter and is up to the couple.  Some couples like to wait for a particular season (like spring or fall).  Others like to get it done right after they get engaged. Some like to wait for their summer tan, others prefer to try to catch the snow!  Whatever makes you feel great is what you should do! :)

I always recommend to allow at least 2 months between your engagement session and your wedding.  This allows enough time to order your images and get an announcement put in the paper before your wedding day.  If you are looking at having an engagement image on your “Save the Dates”, then it is recommended to have your engagement session at least 4-5 months in advance.

Engagement Session Advice:
*Remember, you do not have to match your partner…wear clothes that represent you and that you are comfortable in!
*Solids are better than prints.
*Bring an extra set of clothes to change into….some like casual, some like it formal, some like it fun…..so bring a couple outfits to make sure you get the look you are striving for!
*Pick a location that you feel comfortable at.  A park you always visit, your home, a cafe you are a regular at….these all make for some great photo ops!
*THE MOST IMPORTANT THING….be yourself! Cuddle, hold hands, have fun….the best images come when the couple is at ease and you are having as much fun as the photographer! :)

Okay, so I am back after taking most of December off! I decided to do a “top 10 list” this year in several categories so stay tuned! :)  It was soooo hard to narrow down all of the wedding images from 2009 and only pick 10!  I decided to make my choices based on the emotion I saw and felt when I took the images. Of course, every wedding has its traditional images taken, but the non traditional, and the images that capture emotion, are the images I search to capture at each and every wedding!  I think most clients would agree that these are the images that really stick out in their mind too!

In no particular order…
