This past weekend was Kiley and Travis’s big day! Their wedding and reception took place in Valdese. What a fun and unique wedding.  The weather was perfect as were all the details!  The theme seen throughout the wedding was “Zebra” with red touches.  I have got to admit, when I heard “Zebra”  I was a bit puzzeled as to how it would work.  However, it was so fun and classy (more on the details in the next post)! Here are a few images from the day!

 The wedding party…..:)

The next Mr and Mrs……see you in 20 years kids! ;)

Here are some images of the lovely Tori. We had planned on heading downtown, but ended up doing the images literally in her backyard!  It was great to see you again Tori!

Photographing children is so great! Children hold nothing back and cannot help but me themselves. The world is so small in their eyes, and the only real responsibility they have is to play and be a kid!  These sisters were adorable and so much fun to be with! The weather was trying to play some tricks on us, and no lie, as soon as I got into my car, it started pouring rain!

This photo cracks me up soooo much!! She just couldn’t wait to make a funny face in front of the camera! :)

This past weekend Chris and I drove to Charlotte, NC to meet little Alex and do his session.  He is only 4 months old, but my goodness does he have a great personality! The little guy let us do just about anything…and would you believe that he let mom and dad change him 4 different times (or was it 5)!  :)  Thanks so much for a great time Tom and Tia! I Hope you enjoy the preview……

I love being with and photographing couples in love!  :) Meet Anna and John!

Pam had sent me a message about taking some photos of her and her son’s while Autumn Olive Photography was shooting in Illinois last weekend! The first thing she said when we booked a session is that she hardly has one photo of her son Garrett without his eyes close (I love challenges)! However, in editing the photos, I found very few with Garrett’s eyes closed (nice job Garrett)!! We all met at the Mahomet Botanical Gardens (which were beautiful!). The flower colors were great, but I was challenged in how to incorporate the color of the flowers into photos with two men in their 20’s without it looking “girly”!?! I think we did a pretty good job of it though! :)

Message I received through email from Pam:

” I just had to let you know that I had tears in my eyes when I saw the pictures!  Oh my goodness, they are incredible!  In just an hour you were able to capture my family perfectly.  I have dreamed of having family photos for many years.  Guess I was supposed to wait for you!Thank you for your talent, skill and patience.  I can’t wait to see the rest of our pictures! I NEVER take a good picture and you even managed to make me look good!  Wow, you are amazing! Thanks Cristen.  You have blessed me beyond measure.”

Pam

I must say the the image above is one of my favorites! I love how Garrett is laughing while holding his moms hand so tightly! :)

Little Ty and Macey are just the cutest! We went up to their grandparents cabin (my dream home one day) to help set the tone for the session. This cabin is amazing….everything is designed to replicate an 1800’s cabin! Oh, and the children just love this place!  From the old dolls and hats, to the old school books and axes…this place is a dream come true for any child (and adult) to visit. We all played in the house, outside in the woods, walked the long gravel drive, and ended up in the creek at the end! :) Here are a few from the session…more to come! :)

She loved this old hat!

And the necklace…she thought she could slip them over her head, but mom had to help out!

The Ty man reading a book in the bedroom….

Just being a boy….but of course, sister had to hang out too…:)

Family photography…what a grand idea! The couple on the very left were celebrating their 50th anniversary! Their 2 daughters, and their families, all met in Lake Lure, NC for a weekend with the family!  What a great anniversary gift! Here are a couple from the session!

Here are some more of my favorite images from Jeremy and Carissa’s Engagement session in Morganton! Have a great day! :)

I love this photo! Is Carissa not stunning?

Again….STUNNING! :)
