I love it when families get together for a weekend, and what better spot than Lake James! This was such a fun and laid back family…I hope you all got some of your landscaping done over the weekend while the weather was nice! :) Here are some of my favorites from the session….

The cousins! :)

Brothers! :)

Over 50 years of marriage!

Enjoy! :)

We hiked down to an amazing little creek with some falls!  They even had some boots for me to use so that I wouldn’t get my shoes wet! :)

Both of these images make me laugh.  Their mom’s are shaking the trees to get leaves to fall!

Okay, so they got a little dirty during our session….but we got some great images out of it! :)

Charles and Jessica came to Asheville for a little getaway this past weekend, and contacted me about getting their photos done while they were in the mountains!  These two are a great couple and can you believe that they have 3 kiddos? Seriously…. :)

Love the fall leaves…. :)

Love these HOT Boots…seriously… however, I am sure I would break my neck in them! ;)

I must apologize for the lack of “blog post” recently. Besides the everyday hustle and bustle of life, Chris’s grandmother passed and we had to fly him back from his hunting trip in Maine. :(

Now on to more uplifting things…THE HESTERS!!  OH MY GOSH! This family is soooo much fun. They all rented a cabin to celebrate one of their sister’s 60th Birthday!! There are 8 brothers and sisters…could you even imagine a family that big? :)  Hope you all enjoy the preview…

I just had to share these two photographs with you.  How did I ever not post these on the blog before?  Usually right after each session or wedding, I come back to the office, choose my favorite images for the blog, and then post a few “previews” to share on the blog.  The images below never stuck out in my mind until I saw them the other day. The mother of the twins ordered them and while I was working on the order, my heart just melted all over again!  So, blog world, I am now sharing them for all to see (hope you don’t mind Amber, but your kiddos are just too adorable)! :)

I must apologize for the lack of blogging in the last week or so. We are getting ready for a great fall season of weddings and family sessions here at Autumn Olive Photography! There is nothing better than capturing happy people with the fall colors painting the mountains. :)

One of the most common questions asked by many of our clients is, “What should we wear?”   So, here are the basics!

Wear what you feel comfortable in. That always makes the pictures more fun and natural. Keep kids happy. If they hate something, don’t make them wear it! Color adds an extra pop to your pictures! Families don’t have to match, just try to cordinate colors!  Pick three colors next to each other to add an extra “pop” to the images! Also, solids shirts are better than prints. Solids are classic. But, it is your session and your personality. Do what you feel is you and you cannot go wrong!!!  Happy Tuesday! :)

Is Beth not gorgeous?! It was such a hot day (like REALLY HOT), but as the sun came down, we got some beautiful images in the “golden light”.  Thanks Beth for being such a great sport! :)

I love to photograph Seniors. While I was in Illinois, my brother, who owns Carperfoto, was doing a Senior session, and he asked me to assist him.  It was fun to see how he worked as a photographer!  Even though we are siblings, we both have completely different styles in life and photography! :) Here are some of my perspectives/images from the session!

The crop duster would not go where we wanted it to go the whole time we were down at the family farm!! We so wanted a photo with our Senior and the duster in it! :(  Oh well…..

My view from outside the barn….

Love the cornfields…. :)

And of course my little brother…..
