I must say, the colors in this wedding POPPED!  So many little details made it all come together perfectly!! :)  Jessica and Nic are so in love!  They got married at the beautiful The Court Yard at Little Acres. Here is a quick sneak peak….more to come! I hope you are settling in while in Germany!

I met Nathan and Sara this week in Asheville to photograph their engagement session! It was such a beautiful day out and the lighting was perfect!!  They have such a cute story as to how they met too!  He was her car dealer! :)  Here are a couple peeks from their session! Enjoy! :)

Wedding season is fast approaching and I am so excited to share with you the stories and images of all the couples we already have booked for the 2010 season, and look forward to meeting the couples that still plan on booking for the 2010 season!  I must admit, I LOVE MY JOB!  I love getting to know new couples and capturing one of the most important days of their life!  It is like capturing their family history!  LOVE IT!! :)
Starting this week, I thought it would be fun to cover the  different “options” a couple has to take advantage of leading up to their wedding and shortly after.

Engagement photos are usually one of the first things a couple thinks about doing once they are engaged.  The most common question I get asked is, “when is the best time to get engagement photos done?”My opinion is that it honestly does not matter and is up to the couple.  Some couples like to wait for a particular season (like spring or fall).  Others like to get it done right after they get engaged. Some like to wait for their summer tan, others prefer to try to catch the snow!  Whatever makes you feel great is what you should do! :)

I always recommend to allow at least 2 months between your engagement session and your wedding.  This allows enough time to order your images and get an announcement put in the paper before your wedding day.  If you are looking at having an engagement image on your “Save the Dates”, then it is recommended to have your engagement session at least 4-5 months in advance.

Engagement Session Advice:
*Remember, you do not have to match your partner…wear clothes that represent you and that you are comfortable in!
*Solids are better than prints.
*Bring an extra set of clothes to change into….some like casual, some like it formal, some like it fun…..so bring a couple outfits to make sure you get the look you are striving for!
*Pick a location that you feel comfortable at.  A park you always visit, your home, a cafe you are a regular at….these all make for some great photo ops!
*THE MOST IMPORTANT THING….be yourself! Cuddle, hold hands, have fun….the best images come when the couple is at ease and you are having as much fun as the photographer! :)

After a week of rain, it was refreshing to have a sunny morning! The lighting was perfect and the kiddos have grown sooo much from last year when I did their pictures!  You can just tell these cousins are close. When I asked the little one who her best friends were, she said her cousin’s names. How sweet is that! :)

She was shy at first, but by the end of the session, she wanted to go off with me and just get her photos done by herself!  Too cute! :)

I love it when families get together for a weekend, and what better spot than Lake James! This was such a fun and laid back family…I hope you all got some of your landscaping done over the weekend while the weather was nice! :) Here are some of my favorites from the session….

The cousins! :)

Brothers! :)

Over 50 years of marriage!

What an amazing engagement. Adam and Christine are both from Flordia. Adam’s family has a home also in Mill Springs, North Carolina.  Christine and her parents came up for a few days to visit Adam and his family in North Carolina.  Christine’s mom knew the whole time that Adam was going to ask her daughter to marry him this weekend while they were visting  (and had planned for me to come out there and do engagement pictures while they were still in North Carolina).  The afternoon was perfect! A newly engaged couple (so in love), 100 acres of some of the most beautiful land god has created, and no rain! :) Here is a preview with more to come…

This is my favorite image from the whole afternoon!!

Love the boots!!

It was a beautiful fall day! Jessica and Joey came from Atlanta, Georgia to get married at Chimney Rock State Park.  This couple actually got married on top of the Chimney Rock which is said to have 75 mile views of Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge. It was simply amazing! Jessica was such a relaxed bride and the day flowed so smoothly!  The couple also allowed a TON of time to take photos between the ceremony and reception! I can not stress how important it is to have some relaxed time as a couple to take some photos!! Here is a preview of their wedding…more to come! :)

Can you see the man with the bagpipes under the flag?

Simply Amazing!

I love this image! Not only is Jessica have the biggest smile on her face, but Joey is looking at his new piece of bling! How sweet is that? :)

I love how a groom plays with his ring right after the ceremony! :)

Charles and Jessica came to Asheville for a little getaway this past weekend, and contacted me about getting their photos done while they were in the mountains!  These two are a great couple and can you believe that they have 3 kiddos? Seriously…. :)

Love the fall leaves…. :)

Love these HOT Boots…seriously… however, I am sure I would break my neck in them! ;)
