After a week of rain, it was refreshing to have a sunny morning! The lighting was perfect and the kiddos have grown sooo much from last year when I did their pictures!  You can just tell these cousins are close. When I asked the little one who her best friends were, she said her cousin’s names. How sweet is that! :)

She was shy at first, but by the end of the session, she wanted to go off with me and just get her photos done by herself!  Too cute! :)

I love it when families get together for a weekend, and what better spot than Lake James! This was such a fun and laid back family…I hope you all got some of your landscaping done over the weekend while the weather was nice! :) Here are some of my favorites from the session….

The cousins! :)

Brothers! :)

Over 50 years of marriage!

What an amazing engagement. Adam and Christine are both from Flordia. Adam’s family has a home also in Mill Springs, North Carolina.  Christine and her parents came up for a few days to visit Adam and his family in North Carolina.  Christine’s mom knew the whole time that Adam was going to ask her daughter to marry him this weekend while they were visting  (and had planned for me to come out there and do engagement pictures while they were still in North Carolina).  The afternoon was perfect! A newly engaged couple (so in love), 100 acres of some of the most beautiful land god has created, and no rain! :) Here is a preview with more to come…

This is my favorite image from the whole afternoon!!

Love the boots!!

It was a beautiful fall day! Jessica and Joey came from Atlanta, Georgia to get married at Chimney Rock State Park.  This couple actually got married on top of the Chimney Rock which is said to have 75 mile views of Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge. It was simply amazing! Jessica was such a relaxed bride and the day flowed so smoothly!  The couple also allowed a TON of time to take photos between the ceremony and reception! I can not stress how important it is to have some relaxed time as a couple to take some photos!! Here is a preview of their wedding…more to come! :)

Can you see the man with the bagpipes under the flag?

Simply Amazing!

I love this image! Not only is Jessica have the biggest smile on her face, but Joey is looking at his new piece of bling! How sweet is that? :)

I love how a groom plays with his ring right after the ceremony! :)

Charles and Jessica came to Asheville for a little getaway this past weekend, and contacted me about getting their photos done while they were in the mountains!  These two are a great couple and can you believe that they have 3 kiddos? Seriously…. :)

Love the fall leaves…. :)

Love these HOT Boots…seriously… however, I am sure I would break my neck in them! ;)

Here are some more photos from Russ and Jen’s beautiful wedding!

A family handkerchief Jen had with her on her wedding day!

I think this little guy is going to melt every girls heart one day! :)

The wonderful Little Switzerland Chalet!

Who says you cannot have fun on a dance floor….this couple made me laugh so HARD! :)

I must apologize for the lack of “blog post” recently. Besides the everyday hustle and bustle of life, Chris’s grandmother passed and we had to fly him back from his hunting trip in Maine. :(

Now on to more uplifting things…THE HESTERS!!  OH MY GOSH! This family is soooo much fun. They all rented a cabin to celebrate one of their sister’s 60th Birthday!! There are 8 brothers and sisters…could you even imagine a family that big? :)  Hope you all enjoy the preview…

My Aunt came in from IL for the weekend while Chris was gone Bear Hunting! It rained ALL day Saturday, but the sun came out Sunday and we scurried to the Blue Ridge Parkway to go for a hike.  We chose Graveyard Fields/Upper Falls which was amazing! It is crazy how much color is up at that elevation and the drive was so beautiful! If you are local and have not gone to Graveyard Fields..GO, GO, GO!  Here are a few photos from our day….Happy Fall!! :)

I got home this afternoon, and was overwhelmed with life.  What does that mean? Well, I am sure we have all felt it at one time or another. It was kind of like a burst of energy from no where. I smelled the fall air and was reminded how lucky I was to be alive (and in that breath wanted to do everything at the same time)!  That past couple of days have been busy but wonderful. Here is what has been going on outside of work….

Chris is playing on our tractor (I mean working) and getting the pasture ready for our (hope to have soon) cows……

Chris has also been working very hard each evening and weekend on putting the fence up along the pasture. He has spent so many hours and so much hard work into this fence. We are doing it as time/money permits and hope to have the cows after the winter….you see, Chris will be distracted by hunting season soon! :)

We now own more red gates than I care to admit…haha ;)

I have smelled freshly cut grass for the past 5 days straight thanks to this wonderful candle in my office!

Vera showed up on my doorstep one morning as an unexpected surprise…..

And, I took up sewing…..well not really, but I am going to. I got this dandy sewing machine at the Flea Market and am overly excited to start making some skirts! :)  I just have to figure out when I am going to find the time…hummm.. am pretty sure Chris rolled his eyes at me when I showed him what I was going to buy!
