What a great family! They all came together for a long weekend at the Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure for their parents 40th Anniversary!  The kiddos were adorable too!! :)  The Rumbling Bald Resort especially holds a place in my heart since that is where I got married over 3 years ago! Love this place!! :)

Ben and Vicki had an amazing day for an elopement in Western North Carolina!  The elopement took place at The Inn on Mill Creek which is an adorable Bed and Breakfast near Asheville.  Both Ben and Vikki came from the UK for their elopement and I felt honored to capture their special day!  Their marriage was just the start of their 3 week vacation to the states!  They had their good friends Andrew and Richard join them to witness the ceremony and they were all a blast to hang out with (I mean take pictures of)!! :)

I love the look on Vicki’s face! :)

It was an inside joke…you had to be there! :)

What a beautiful location for a brunch! I am telling you, if you have never visited this Inn, it is a must! :)

Hope you had safe travels back and had a great time in the states! :)

That’s right! I am back and in full swing!  I mostly took off the month of June to spend time with my sweet little girl that I had at the end of May!  It really is crazy the joy your own baby can bring…I never understood it fully until having our own!  I will be catching up on blog post in the next week or so…but for now, just wanna show off some pictures I have taken of our little girl within the first month!  She has changed so much and is a little chunk now! :)

Just a few more images from this fun Asheville, NC engagement session. :)

I was working on some work in my office the other day and looked at this picture again.  Something was drawing me to it more and more so I played around with it and could not be happier with the outcome!  How can you not love those eyes and little teeth! :)

So, what exactly is a Bridal Portrait?  I like to explain it as a “stress-free time to get as many images taken as possible in a location (or couple locations) of your choice in your wedding dress!”  The wedding day can be sooo busy and a day filled with many emotions.  Some brides choose to not concentrate on pictures of just them self on that day and decide to do a separate session with just them and the dress!  Most of the times a good friend or the mom of the bride will come along as well (which makes for such a fun session).   Majority of brides will get a 16×20 images or canvas of their favorite shot from the session and post it at the reception.

What to remember about Bridal Sessions?

*Bring props!  Balloons, umbrellas, fun shoes, sunglasses, a bouquet….the sky is the limit!

*It may not always be the best idea to do your “trial run” with your hair on the same day as your bridal session (just incase you don’t like how it turned out).  Instead, consider doing your trial run a week or so before, and then schedule your appointment to do your hair a couple hours before the bridal session

*Do not worry if a bridal session does not fit in your budget…..I promise we will get plenty of images of you on your wedding day!! :)

Wedding season is fast approaching and I am so excited to share with you the stories and images of all the couples we already have booked for the 2010 season, and look forward to meeting the couples that still plan on booking for the 2010 season!  I must admit, I LOVE MY JOB!  I love getting to know new couples and capturing one of the most important days of their life!  It is like capturing their family history!  LOVE IT!! :)
Starting this week, I thought it would be fun to cover the  different “options” a couple has to take advantage of leading up to their wedding and shortly after.

Engagement photos are usually one of the first things a couple thinks about doing once they are engaged.  The most common question I get asked is, “when is the best time to get engagement photos done?”My opinion is that it honestly does not matter and is up to the couple.  Some couples like to wait for a particular season (like spring or fall).  Others like to get it done right after they get engaged. Some like to wait for their summer tan, others prefer to try to catch the snow!  Whatever makes you feel great is what you should do! :)

I always recommend to allow at least 2 months between your engagement session and your wedding.  This allows enough time to order your images and get an announcement put in the paper before your wedding day.  If you are looking at having an engagement image on your “Save the Dates”, then it is recommended to have your engagement session at least 4-5 months in advance.

Engagement Session Advice:
*Remember, you do not have to match your partner…wear clothes that represent you and that you are comfortable in!
*Solids are better than prints.
*Bring an extra set of clothes to change into….some like casual, some like it formal, some like it fun…..so bring a couple outfits to make sure you get the look you are striving for!
*Pick a location that you feel comfortable at.  A park you always visit, your home, a cafe you are a regular at….these all make for some great photo ops!
*THE MOST IMPORTANT THING….be yourself! Cuddle, hold hands, have fun….the best images come when the couple is at ease and you are having as much fun as the photographer! :)
